OUR POLICIES



♥ Scheduling & Visit Times: Scheduling is on a first come, first served basis. Furry People Pet Sitting (FPPS) will do their best to accommodate client’s needs within their schedule and routes. FPPS will visit at the requested times as closely as possible. However, if an unforeseen situation arises FPPS reserves the right to reschedule. 
♥ Confirmation Call Prior to Out-of-Town-Departure: Furry People Pet Sitting will provide confirmation call or e-mail no less than two days prior to each departure. During the confirmation call, FPPS will review all information (dates, pet’s needs, contact numbers, etc.). Client is responsible to ensure they communicated with FPPS and received a response/acknowledgement from FPPS prior to departure. 
♥ Early Returns: Furry People Pet Sitting understands client’s plans may change. If client returns home early, FPPS requests to be notified immediately. If FPPS is not notified of an early return and visits client’s home with client present, the original visit charge applies. 
♥ Cancellations: Furry People Pet Sitting understands client’s plans may change. If client notifies FPPS of cancellation at least 24 hours in advance to the date of visit, no cancellation fees will be incurred. If client cancels less than 24 hours prior to the date of visit there will be a $40.00 cancellation fee (or for mid day dog walking visit, client will be charged for the rate of this visit). 
♥ Holiday & Peak Season Cancellations: Furry People Pet Sitting receives a higher volume of service requests during holidays and peak season. Due to the high demand, if a client cancels seven days or less before any holiday or during a peak season (June 1 – September 30), client will be charged for half of the visits. Refer to rate sheet for holiday and peak season rates. 
♥ Medications/Vaccinations: Furry People Pet Sitting will attempt to administer medications as directed but cannot be held responsible for complications that arise as a result. Excessively shy pets with medical problems can be a serious hazard. If client has such an animal, this must be thoroughly discussed with FPPS. Under no circumstances will FPPS service any pet that has any form of contagious illness due to the safety of other clients’ pets. FPPS requires that all pets have necessary vaccinations and immunizations before service begins. If FPPS staff is bitten, exposed to any disease or injured by client’s pet(s), who have not been properly or currently vaccinated, the client will be responsible for all costs and damages that may incur. 
♥ Non-FPPS Visitors to Client’s Home: If client allows any other person(s) access to their home during time of scheduled visit by Furry People Pet Sitting, FPPS cannot be held liable for any damages to property or pets as a result. FPPS requests for client to notify FPPS if a visitor will be present at client’s home during time of scheduled visit and vice versa. During overnight visits, if a person shows up to the home, who has not previously been discussed with FPPS, the sitter has the right to leave immediately and not stay the night; the sitter will return the following day to check on the pets but client will still be charged for the overnight as scheduled. A sitter has the right to leave the home immediately if the sitter is uncomfortable, feels threatened, or unsafe in any way. Client will be notified immediately once the sitter feels he or she is in a safe place to call. 
♥ Fences: Furry People Pet Sitting does not accept responsibility or liability for any customer’s pets that escape, are injured or become lost, fatal or otherwise, when pets are left out or given access by client to a fenced/partially fenced in area. This includes electronic, wood, metal or any other fence types.

♥ Waste Clean-Up: Furry People Pet Sitting will properly dispose of pet waste and do their best to clean up any accidents client’s pet(s) may have. FPPS is not responsible for any residual stains on carpet/flooring caused by client’s pet(s). FPPS requests client provides plastic bags, towels, cleaning products, paper towels, trash bags and indicated where you would like the waste disposed of. 
♥ Leashes: All dogs will be required to be on leash during outdoor walks. 
♥ Unforeseen Expenses: Any additional necessary costs such as food, litter, cleaning supplies or other necessary items that contribute to the health and well-being of client’s pet(s) will be purchased by Furry People Pet Sitting. We will retain a receipt and the client will be responsible for reimbursement of these items. A $20.00 per hour trip fee and mileage will be applied. 
♥ Animal Behavior: Furry People Pet Sitting does not accept responsibility or liability for animal behavior, normal or otherwise, which results in injury to the client’s pet(s). If FPPS staff is harmed or injured by the client’s pet(s), the client/owner accepts full responsibility for the cost of any necessary medical attention on behalf of Furry People Pet Sitting staff member and/or pet(s). 
♥ Updates: Furry People Pet Sitting will not be responsible for errors incurred if updated information has not been provided by client. FPPS requests client to inform them of any changes regarding pet’s care and other pertinent information. 
♥ Termination of Service: Services may be terminated by Furry People Pet Sitting at any point for any reason and 30 days written notice shall be given to client. If client terminates services, 2 weeks written notice shall be given to Furry People Pet Sitting. Any outstanding charges will be due as of the last day of service. If client does not settle the bill at the final day of service, a 10% per month interest charge will be applied until payment is made. Any bill which is 90 days overdue shall be reported to collections. 
♥ Payment: For FPPS services scheduled for 7+ days, payment of 50% total charge is required 5 business days in advance to start of service. For scheduled FPPS services less than 7 days, payment is due on day of service. Client has the option to post-date their checks to the LAST date of service and will not be cashed until after service is complete. Client will be quoted the rate of the total payment at the time of the confirmation call and FPPS will leave a paid invoice for your records as a receipt. For any returned checks, client will incur $35.00 fee. 
♥ Keys: Furry People Pet Sitting recommends clients to provide a physical key, including in the case client’s home is secured by electronic keypad. Keys are kept in a secured lock system and coded for client’s confidentiality. If client opt out of providing a key to FPPS, client will be charged $10.00 per trip for time and mileage expended picking up and dropping off key or charged $5 for FPPS to return key via standard mail. 
♥ Inclement Weather: Furry People Pet Sitting will use their best judgment in caring for client’s pet(s) and home during time of inclement weather. FPPS will attempt to carry out client’s instructions to the best of their ability whilst maintaining pet’s safety as their primary concern. FPPS will contact both client and emergency contact of any changes due to inclement weather. If FPPS is physically unable to drive to client home they will notify emergency contact to request their assistance to check on client’s pet(s). Please remember that garage door openers are not operational in the event of power outages.

♥ Emergency Contact: Furry People Pet Sitting has requested the name and phone number of a person living nearby (with access to your home). This should be a person close enough to walk to your home if roads are impassable (for example, a neighbor). In the event that the client does not provide a nearby emergency contact with access to client home for Furry People Pet Sitting, client acknowledge FPPS will render scheduled services once safe to do so. This may mean that client’s pet(s) may go several hours before a visit.
